Andrew Winnick, PhD

Andy Winnick is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Statistics at Cal State University, Los Angeles, having previously served for eight years there as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs / Dean of Faculty.  He is the President of the Board of Directors of The American Institute for Progressive Democracy, an action-oriented, public policy think tank. He is an active member of the Claremont Democratic Club. He served for eight years on the Human Services and Human Relations Commissions of the City of Claremont. He has held regular faculty positions at UC Santa Barbara, Antioch College, Central State University (Ohio), and served as Director of the Heidelberg (Germany) Campus of Schiller International University and later as Dean of Special Programs at Schiller. He has held a variety of visiting faculty positions. He has worked on the research staffs of the President's Council of Economic Advisors in Washington D.C. and of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and has been a consultant to a broad array of colleges and universities, governmental bodies, unions, and private agencies.
